Guys.  Seriously.  I had a full on prego meltdown trying to register this weekend.  Even with the amazing help of Emily who basically typed out exactly what I need, this somehow turned into an experience worse than the dentist.  I do love my dentist, though.  Just not the digging in my mouth part.  Hi Dr. Z!

First, I’m not a huge fan of baby pink. Or pink and brown.  Or pink and green.  Or any combination, really.  I also have come to the conclusion that I abhor -strong word, I know- baby patterns.  With my designer/editor mindset always ON, they make me want to run for the hills!  So, all in all, I have discovered that 95% of the modern day baby offerings for clothing, decor, and all things related, leave me uninspired.  Where are all the things for moms like ME!?  …whatever that means exactly.  I finally started looking in the boy sections first for everything, but I don’t think this little lovebug would be all over a train-themed nursery.  After Cryfest 2011 ensued, I finally did finish registering, though.  There may only be 3 clothing items in said registry due to aforementioned aversions, but it’s a start!  Thank you, Em.  Thank you, husband, for listening to me boohoo about how many stroller choices there are.  Heavens!  Done done and done.

I also finally decided on a nursery color: Barely Teal from my good friend Mr. Benjamin Moore.  The nursery is getting painted this week.  I suppose my nursery inspiration above is as unconventional as my registry pickings. I am in LOVE with this print above by Christian Chaize via Elle Decor.  I just can’t get enough of these images.  The ocean, the sea, the waves - it’s my childhood dream world!

Speaking of dream world… my ultimate prego fantasy of having an organic frozen yogurt place open a block from my house actually CAME TRUE.  I think I will wish for a Sports Club LA to open down the street from my house next.  And an ocean.  Someone please put in an ocean.  Thanks.

Names, names, names…  We have a couple we’re leaning toward.  My bro, sister, Ari and I are spending the upcoming holiday weekend with my parents in FL for some fireworks and fun by the pool.  We’ll no doubt get some name feedback then, so hopefully this little beauty can shed her “Biscuit” title soon.
