Remember that time I shot a two page spread for SW in my living room hours before we went to print with a Panasonic Lumix-LX3?  Don’t judge.  Just wait.  It might just be the prettiest spread in the whole magazine thanks to Emily’s styling and Katharine’s ironing skills.  Oh, I have pics of this adventure.  But you can’t see them till V3 drops on October 5th.
Yes, today is crazy.  Thanks to tech issues, I’ll be hand-delivering the files to the printer in Florida tomorrow night (rather than overnighting them today), booking a room at Watercolor since the printer is a good two hour drive from my house, and getting up at the crack of dawn Saturday to proof all day. Going to the printer is like going to the moon.  The machine itself is the size of a football field and there are droves of people in there working on jobs all night long. Nuts. Anyone want to come keep me company?  Seriously.
All the prayers, emails, calls, texts, this playlist, the random gifts of encouragement and the two lovely ladies I’m sharing an office with are getting me through the rush of today.  Some people may not know this, but we really do all of this ourselves.  Most editors don’t design the magazine too.  Laying out a magazine from scratch takes “editor” to another level.  But, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  This is a genuine labor of love and we are all so proud of this issue for many reasons you will just have to wait to see for yourself.
I’m only stopping to write this because Katharine and Emily are on the big computer making text edits right now and I’ve been on overdrive lately, so all my emails are answered. Crazy, I know.  No, I don’t drink coffee.
Another thing that gets me through is thinking about seeing my parents tomorrow.  That is the best reward.
OK, back to making things happen…
